Larry leads the Blue Sky team as their President, Chief Executive Officer and lead Financial Planner. Larry has extensive experience in developing capital accumulation and capital preservation strategies. He continues to devise programs to maximize the potential for current income and eventual estate distribution objectives for the pre-independence and retiree clients. Larry can bring real world experience and academic theory to bear when advising clients. He works closely with his business owner clients to ensure business continuity through succession and employee retention plans.
 
Larry graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1985, completed a Master of Science degree in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1992 and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in financial and tax planning in 1997 then received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNIERTM certification in 1999. Prior to pursuing the financial services industry, Larry retired as a U.S. Naval Officer.

He served on the board of governors for San Diego's Financial Planning Association as President and Chairman of the Board, been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, featured in the Money Makeover segment of the San Diego Union-Tribune and been a guest on The Financial Advisor's radio show on KOGO AM 600.

Having gone through mergers and acquisitions with advisors and business owners, Larry has acquired a skillset to help other business owners as well as Blue Sky. Blue Sky was founded to encourage the Next Generation of financial planners to develop not only their skills and expertise under his supervision and guidance but to set an example of how leading with financial planning can create a win-win model for the profession and the clients it serves. He believes everyone can benefit from the development of a personal and or business financial plan – How do you know where you are going unless you “write it down.”
 
When not in the office leading his team, Larry enjoys spending time with his family, pets, and gardening. Larry traveled the world, first through the U.S. Navy, participating in diving adventures at world heritage sites. Ask about his favorite SCUBA diving trip!
